What's the difference Between Newborn & Fresh 48?

Your might be thinking that you want photos of your newborn, but what's REALLY the difference between a Fresh 48 and Newborn Session? Great question. First 48 will generally occur at the hospital and include the hospital setting, while a Newborn Session will happen in the comfort of your own home. You can have the same people present and photographed, minus the family dog, but I still aim to capture those same small, precious  details in either setting.

After a date is booked the planning can begin. Do you have a certain look in mind or have any questions for me. I'll send a questionnaire and a guide to get you started. Plus, I'm always here to answer any questions that may pop up.

The day has finally come. You are heading to the hospital and soon baby will arrive. Notify me at your earliest convenience and we'll solidify a date and time to get your photos underway. 

Let the fun begin! I'll be at the hospital per our agreed day and time. I'll bring everything needed, you just need to try to relax and and enjoy this time with your new addition.

What exactly is a Fresh 48 Session?

A Fresh 48 Session often takes place in a hospital within the first 48 hours of the babies birth. It will sometimes take place in the home depending on preference and when you are discharged from the hospital. 

What should we wear or bring to this session?

What if we leave the hospital early?

You will receive a style guide that will prepare you for your baby’s Fresh 48 Session. It will include suggestions and ideas for what to pack prior to heading in for your baby’s delivery. Simple, neutral pieces are definitely recommended so your baby and family are the focus.

I get it, hospitals sometimes need the room and you end up leaving a lot sooner than planned. That's perfectly alright. I can either come sooner OR we can plan to do a shoot as you arrive home. This might look like more of a "welcome home baby" style shoot, but fun and perfect either way.
